CELTA with the Irish Academy was a great experience. Learned a lot from amazing teachers and great people.

My first try at CELTA was last August but I felt like I wasn´t prepared well to take part in this course so I left it. When I saw the academy was going to do an online CELTA course, I decided to give it a second chance. This course has not only helped me to get into my teaching skills (because teaching is something I have never done) but also it has helped me a lot more with my confidence and worthiness, in general. It was an also great opportunity to learn from practice, reflections and several observations we had in these four weeks.

Given the extremely intense nature of the course and the corresponding work load to complete it successfully, I don’t think I would have made it to the end without the unfailing guidance and constructive support from my tutors. I observed this not only in respect of myself but for all the teacher trainees. Pass A for the tutors ! The Celta course is a month long discovery of what it means to be a good EFL teacher and how to acquire those skills in theory and in practice. It will take you to the limit of what you think you are capable of and further. The unfailing support of the tutors will guide you through this intense process and the sense of achievement at the end is extremely rewarding.

It was intense, but worth it.

I really enjoyed the course. It was very intensive and difficult, but in a short time we learned how to prepare for the lessons and deliver them effectively. The tutors were very helpful and supportive.

It qas a very intense experience, nevertheless one of the most life changing ones ! I had gradually learned to better myself at every stage of the course as the challenges went along. Besides, my tutor Stephanie was very supportive and spot on when it came to my developpement. I feel that she not only tutored but mentored us as well. Overall, it was an amazing experience and if I had to do it again, I would !

Interesting course. Fast-paced, a few sleepless nights, but great. Tutors are amazing teachers. I learned a lot from them, my team trainee teachers, peers and students as well. There’s more to teaching than others may initially think. Overall a great experience. Thank you all!

Hardest thing that I have ever done but you learn so much in a short time!

The CELTA course provided an essential mix of theory, teacher/peer observation and practical application. I discovered that the methods taught are valuable not only for teaching CELTA but also in my work as a business training consultant. I firmly believe my daily teaching practice has improved as a result of the course. Without doubt the course is challenging because of the immensity of the topic (English) and the degree of study; the condensed and accelerated learning period; the honest feedback and the constant lack of sleep. It's true to say that you cannot have other commitments during the one month program. Ultimately, the CELTA course reinforced my existing knowledge, stretched my comfort zone, made me self reflect, introduced me to new methods of teaching practice and importantly, increased both my knowledge and skill as a teacher and thus my earning capacity. The CELTA course is definitely a journey - but one worth taking.

I had a wonderful time and it was a great learning experience. The tutors and administrative staff were very helpful. The Irish Academy in Las Palmas is a great place for the CELTA course to be held. Students were also very receptive and organization of the course was first-rate.

The Celta course was a great experience for both professional and personal development. The tutors were excellent and I would highly recommend this course to anyone who has little or no teaching experience.

Great experience

It was a rewarding experience for me.i would do the course over and over again as i learnt how to become a more fruitful and efficient teacher.

Looking back the course was a very valuable and fun learning experience. At the time however I found it very stressful and challenging, however with the support of both the tutors and pupils I was able to complete the course and now have a CELTA qualification to take with me wherever I choose to lay my hat :) I would reccomend the Irish Academy as I love the learning environment its had a lovely laid back vibe and is in a good location in Las Palmas.

This course was by far one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. The amount of support I received at The Irish Academy made the experience that much sweeter. Yvonne Dagan is an amazing instructor and inspired me beyond words. I highly recommend anyone interested in getting their CELTA Certification attending The Irish Academy.

I loved my time studying the CELTA course at The Irish Academy, the tutors, staff and class mates were friendly and great fun. I learnt a huge amount in a short time and will remember the experience with fond memories. I worked hard but had great fun and laughed so much I cried. The school is located in a lovely quiet Spanish road near the centre of town with everything you need at your finger tips. It was a warm and friendly environment in which to learn. I loved the diversity of the island with its beautiful beaches, mountains, Spanish food and culture adding that something extra special to my experience.

The course was amazing. I have learnt a great number of useful tools for my classes. It has completely changed my mind. I enjoyed the process of studying, cooperating with peers and communicating with tutors.

The CELTA course was a difficult but an amazing experience. Thanks to the Teachers, as well as the Academy staff who was always very helpful with us, we could pass it and obtained our certificate. Also the Academy is very well situated which is an advantage to get there every day of the course.

Fantastic experience! And a few months later, great to see that the hard work has paíd off and there are jobs to get! All in all, very rewarding and I would not have been without it!
