The London School |
Schio (VI), Italy |
One of the most highly-accredited schools in Italy, the London School has been running CELTA courses since 2012. All trainers, have extensive experience in international schools and take part in international conferences to ensure that they are up-to-date with all the latest developments in ELT and teacher training. They will guide you through the course and help you gain the confidence you need to start or improve your teaching.
In Italy, we are member of AISLi (a prestigious association of Italian language schools) and can offer help finding work within the network.
At an international level, we are a member of Eaquals and would happily help CELTA graduates make contact with other member schools.
Finally, those achieving a CELTA grade A or B, would be considered for employment at the London School should there be a vacancy.
If you wish to stay in Schio for the duration of the course, or from Monday to Friday, we can offer a list of affordable accommodation options, all of which have been tried and tested by previous CELTA trainees.
Cancellations
In the case of cancellation six weeks or more before the course starting date, 20% of the total fee will be retained. With less than six weeks' notice, 50% of our total fee will be retained. If cancellation occurs in the final ten days before the starting date the total fee will be retained. However, in certain exceptional circumstances we will consider transferring the fees to another course. No transfer is made if notice is insufficient to allow for the finding of a substitute candidate. Please note that in all cases of cancellation we will retain 20% of fees paid, to cover administrative costs.
In the event that the London School is forced to cancel a course, the full fees will be refunded. The London School cannot however be held responsible for other costs incurred as a result of registering for the course such as travel, accommodation or the like so you are strongly advised to take out insurance.
Late Cancellations
Once the course has started, there is no possible refund. For this reason, you might consider taking out an insurance policy in order to be covered in case anything happens and you need to leave the course.
I have read, understand and accept to be bound by the terms of this refund policy.

To me the experience has been very meaningful and rewarding. Many former CELTA trainees had warned me that it'd be an intensive experience, and they were quite right! But I've been fortunate enough to have wonderful and collaborative classmates, that I could share the long hours and some sleepless nights with. Our tutors have been supportive throughout the whole experience and I've been able to learn so much from them, as well as from the programme.
This has truly been one of the best experiences I've had in my life. I have always loved teaching, but before CELTA I never realised how much. My tutors were wonderful "people" before being wonderful "tutors", they stayed by my side every step of the way and I could always count on them for anything, anytime. The practicality of the course is what I loved the most. The afternoon teaching practices allowed me to transform the content of the morning sessions into something that was "real", they allowed me to increasingly build self-confidence and to thoughtfully reflect on my areas of improvement so that I could, with time, become a better teacher. Feedback was a key area as well. The keyword here was "suggestion" rather than "judgement", both from my peers and my tutors. No one meant to offend anyone, all the comments or suggestions were made to stimulate improvement, and that is something I really loved and for which I am thankful both to my tutors and my peers. I am really really glad that I decided to take the CELTA course with this particular centre, it has been a beautiful experience and I'll never forget it.
The course is very intensive and challenging but absolutely worth it because it gives you a solid preparation both theoretical and practical. The tutors and the school staff were supportive and present all the time if anything was needed. The experience was even more powerful thanks to the amazing friends I met during the course, always there helping and encouraging me at every step of the way.
I'm very happy to have completed the CELTA course at The London School. Even though the journey from Padua to Thiene was quite long, the atmosphere once at school was very friendly and attentive to our needs. It almost felt like a second home, certainly not just a school that you attend as one of a multitude of anonymous students passing through. The course is highly demanding and it's best to give it your full attention for one month but the quantity and quality of what you learn is worth every effort. You also work so closely with the other CELTA students that new friendships are established and I'm quite certain they will last for some time. It's a 'complete' course where you learn how to teach, how people learn, how to plan your lessons, how to keep on developing professionally and you also practise techniques/activities to use the classroom and are given hints as to how to find a job post CELTA.
I had a really positive experience on my CELTA course at The London School! Very helpful staff and professional and friendly environment!
Great unforgettable experience
The CELTA course at the London School in Thiene was a challenging, demanding yet rewarding experience. The tutors were highly professional, competent and supportive thanks to their consolidated know-how and expertise. The students were engaged and eager to learn. The entire staff welcomed us making us feel home ready to help us. The facility is very cosy and fully equipped with a wide range of methodology books and useful bibliography for the trainees.
Excellent tutors and staff in general. We received the warmest welcome!
It was a very intensive course (as promoted) and I did enjoy the studying after such a long period since my uni days! Our class size was perfect and we formed a tight knit supportive group throughout the course. The 2 tutors had totally different teaching and tutoring styles which I appreciated. Working with the student classes in a real situation is very important and the students sourced were very keen and the classes challenging with the variety of learning styles and L1 influences. Thiene is a lovely little town, though with not much to distract from the task at hand. Fairly easy to get to without a car. The location of the school is handy to town - just a short walk, and with plenty of parking if you're driving. I'm so glad I came to do the curse in Italy with the London School instead of staying home in Australia. It was a truly rich and rewarding experience.
it was a demanding and challenging experience, but very rewarding too! Ethics and professionalism is what I found at The London School .
The course has been a great and useful experience.
It was a wonderful experience. Excellent tutors, wonderful team, best course ever. Lovely administrative staff, kind and helpful.
The experience was made much better thanks to the excellent tutors and helpful staff of the London School. Whenever there was a problem, they always found a way to help. This course promised to be very challenging but doing it here with them and this class has been great. Thank you.
It was a great experience, thanks!
The course was very interesting and helpful, overall I am very satisfied with it. The only comments I can make are: - I noticed a big difference in feedback from the two main tutors; - the school didn't seem ready to accomodate 12 trainee teachers and had some technical difficulties (printers, staff room, etc.).
