It was a great experience, I could see my improvement in TP week by week and the guidance I received from the tutors were really great, they were very specific about what I needed to improve whilst being very encouraging and easy to approach.

I completed a 12-week online version of the course during Melbourne's lockdown. I already had a background in teaching another subject before I started the course, so there were elements that were consolidation for me, but I enjoyed learning the CELTA approach which was quite different to my usual teaching style. I really appreciated the honest, detailed and immediate oral and written feedback from the instructors which ensured you adopted the correct lesson structures and teaching techniques. I found the four assignments practical and enjoyable, and the supportive camaraderie among the other trainees was a real highlight for me.

Excellent course, excellent experience and training and I am very grateful in deed. Tutors helpful, encouraging, fair and kept us to CELTA standards. Groups online each week with the tutors were very good. Although a lot of work, the pace is much more manageable than the intensive course. We were in lockdown so did not have access to the school facilities or location, so I cannot comment on those aspects. I have and will find this training extremely useful. Thank you StudyCELTA.

I had such a wonderful experience on the course. The coursework was challenging but the fact that we were able to start our practical experience from the second week really accelerated our learning. The tutors also were so knowledgeable and encouraging

It was a great course that helped me to improve my skills in teaching.

The course is rather intensive indeed. There were a few nights when I would be up until late preparing my lesson plans; I would end up with only three or four hours of sleep, which isn’t exactly what you need before teaching a class. Week three was, perhaps, the hardest for most of us, as we had to submit (and re-submit) our assignments and prepare for the lessons. The best thing about the course is definitely the people I met—tutors, trainees, and students—and the amazing experience that we had together. I feel quite confident about the things that I learnt on the course, and I can’t wait for an opportunity to put my newly acquired skills to practice.

It was an inspiring experience for me to be actually facilitating/teaching a class. The learners were so motivated and appreciative and it felt a privilege to just be given the opportunity to assist them improving their English speaking skills. I am grateful to MTA and its tutors who needed to cover an enormous amount of ground with us in just four weeks, which they did quite masterfully and creatively! And.... what a fabulous bunch of trainees!

Extremely well run course. Tutors are all highly experienced giving excellent and insightful feedback. The course is very intense, but the tutors are very supportive. It's well worth it if you are prepared to work hard.

I was glad to do the DELTA OC at MTA because of the benefit and convenience of doing the face-to-face preparation locally. But most of all, the MTA trainers are so knowledgeable and experienced, their tuition and guidance opened up a whole range ideas about teaching that have really motivated my study. It was an excellent way to start the course! The classroom facilities are easy to use and included new teaching technologies for me to try. The students were diverse, friendly and eager to learn. A beautiful boutique school in a beautiful, accessible part of Melbourne. ...The coffee is also excellent.

I undertook a full time CELTA course with Melbourne Training Asscoiates and could not have asked for a better more enriching learning experience. From the outset, the tutors at MTA made me feel very welcome, and generously shared their teaching knowledge, advice and wisdom. In four action packed weeks, I learnt an enormous amount about teaching pedagogy and many useful strategies for teaching English effectively. I also gained invaluable practical teaching experience, teaching real students right from the get go. I finished the intensive CELTA course in MTA two weeks ago. I would highly recommend this center to anyone who is interested in undertaking the CELTA course in Melbourne. The tutors unselfishly shared their professional knowledge and skills of teaching with us. I benefited from their advices and encouragement so much. I am now more aware of the teaching profession, confident in entering the industry and ready for future challenges.

The course requires full commitment for a whole month and you hardly have time to sleep or do anything else! I recommend MTA to you all! There is really nothing negative I can say about the course. The course itself has been well developed over the years and provides students with a rigorous, sensible and easily understood framework for teaching ESL. The tutors have been well trained, deliver the course content in an accessible manner and provide excellent, and timely, feedback to students. All the staff are approachable and friendly at all times. I would not hesitate to recommend MTA to anyone considering ESL teacher training.

i think it's an excellent way to help prepare someone for work. The only thing i would like to suggest is maybe adding an extra week to the course. it a very intense course and a lot of people were really burnt out after it. not healthy

I learnt a lot on this course. It was practical and the tutors provided constructive feedback which helped me improve in my teaching practice.

I have thoroughly enjoyed doing CELTA with Melbourne Training Associates. The teachers were on task, competent and very knowledgeable, but were also just great, fun, warm people as well. The group we had doing the course was also particularly warm and engaging and fun to work with. This course has been particularly intense and challenging, but ultimately very rewarding and I can't think how the people and everything that was taught could have been better for what I have gained and even just for the experience itself. I look forward greatly to working as an English Language Teacher!

Excellent tutors, lovely atmosphere.

The course was well run and the tutors were excellent. The facilities could have been better in terms of computer access as we were sharing just a few between many students.

All the tutors are friendly and helpful, and will not hesitate to help you; it's hard work, but there is more than enough support and tea and sympathy to see you through to the end.

A very tough and stressful course. A very heavy workload for both trainers and trainees. Despite this, the trainers found time give trainees the support was needed. Overall a fun and rewarding course.

I walked into MTA on the first day feeling very apprehensive about the steep learning curve and the intense workload that I knew were ahead of me. The reviews don't lie - CELTA is a lot of hard work and you do have to pretty much put your life on hold for a month. There were times when I was sure that I couldn't cope with any more sleep deprivation, when I had no clue where I'd find another 5-6 hours to plan yet another lesson, and when I dreaded the students arriving because I knew I wasn't as prepared as I would have liked. But the redeeming grace of it all were the supportive and down-to-earth tutors, a fantastic cohort of colleagues, wonderful and patient students, and knowing that at the end, I'd be prepared to step into a classroom. And I have been. I currently teach in three very different settings but have found the knowledge and experience I gained from CELTA has been useful in every one of them. Thanks, MTA! Couldn't have done it without you. :)

Very friendly staff who teach in a warm relaxed style. The location is easy to get to on PT and is modern and clean. The course is very demanding but the teachers at MTA took time to give me indiviual feedback and instruction to ensure got the most out of my time there.

They were both very current with Delta information and I walked away with a lot more confidence in being able to pass the course as well as becoming a better practitioner in this field. I had a great experience studying with MTA.

Doing the CELTA (part-time option) and doing it at MTA specifically was one of the best career changing decisions I've made. I had a good hunch about the place and my experience there confirmed it. A small outfit but with a very good reputation in the Melbourne ESL/ELICOS scene. It had a nice casual atmosphere about it, largely attributed to the tutors we had who were all extremely approachable. The tutors were very generous with their knowledge and experience and had a good balance of effective and easy to grasp teaching input, and positive encouragement and critical evaluation on areas of improvement of our teaching practice sessions. The students we had to 'practice' on were great as well and understood we were all teachers in training. You will also find that your fellow classmates can make a big difference to your overall experience and I was fortunate to have a really good group who were all supportive of each other. I'd have no hesitation in recommending MTA to anyone considering doing CELTA. Work hard (and trust me you will!) and it will pay off. Many of us secured teaching roles right after completing the course.

The 4 week intensive CELTA course was packed with learning, practicing, assignments and new friends! The tutors methodically applied/ modeled consistently yet different in their styles. We know what good looks like! MTA was recommended to me and they have lived up to their reputation. Thank you all for your grace and patience in teaching novices like me in the education industry. The multi cultural mix of learners and trainees bring rich diversity and added spice into the teaching practices! Exhilarating and rewarding!!

My overall experience during the course was extremely positive. From the very beginning, we were given excellent support and guidance from our tutors Niki Walker and Barbara Munro. The teamwork and camaraderie fostered among the fellow trainees were superb, and all the staff at Melbourne Training Associates were very helpful. Moreover, the onsite input sessions and observed teaching practices were invaluable in obtaining constructive and beneficial feedback from tutors and fellow trainees. In my view, these aforementioned factors helped to overcome any drawbacks from the lack of weekly physical face-to-face contact. My one recommendation would be the extended use of technology to allow trainees to watch and observe actual MTA classroom lessons taught by course tutors. Overall, the CELTA course was highly rewarding as well as enriching, and it continues to be one of my life’s greatest achievements.

The tutors were great but I would have appreciated a bit more direction to link the texts recommended for the course with the actual teaching practice and strategies discussed each week, as well as being asked to reference the books in assignments.

Very professional

My experience of the course was extremely positive. As I was advised, there was a fair bit of time and performance pressure at times, especially in the middle of the course. One thing I am not sure of – since I have not yet taught in a school – is whether the 40-minute teaching practice is a good reflection of the actual timing of real lessons. Perhaps a little deeper understanding of the theory behind the teaching method could have been included in the Saturdays. But overall, a great experience.

The Celta course was a great experience. I learnt more about teaching English and how to be a better teacher. The tutors were friendly, helpful and gave useful feedback which helped me improve my lessons. I also enjoyed spending time with the other trainees. Thank you!

The one-month intensive CELTA course is rigorous, and can be quite mentally tiring, however, I felt that I had the support of all trainers to perform to the best of my ability. I greatly appreciated their friendliness and encouraging words. The course itself was excellent, and I feel it was perfect for me at this stage in my career. The course tutors have a great deal of experience, and I trusted them and enjoyed their training sessions immensely. I have recommended this course to several of my friends already.
