International House Milan |
Milan, Italy |
H Milan was founded in 1982 by Sieglinde Wolkan and Claudio Tedesco, and Sieglinde still runs the school today. There are two main premises - one in the city centre (close to the 'Duomo', or cathedral) and one in San Donato Milanese.
Teacher training is key to IH Milan's work and our department offers a full pathway for teachers, from CELTA to Young Learners to Business English to DELTA.
IH Milan is, of course, also a working language school and exam centre which maintains a friendly, supportive and positive atmosphere.
As a member of both IHWO (International House World Organisation) and AISLI (Italian Association of Language Schools), we keep our CELTA graduates updated on teaching opportunities within these networks. On the course itself, we include input sessions designed to help with finding a job and continued professional development. Finally, following all of our CELTA courses, graduates have the opportunity to attend two free 90-minute workshops, one on Teaching Young Learners and one on Teaching Business English. IH Milan also occasionally hires high-achieving trainees should there be a vacancy.
A dedicated member of the school team looks after accommodation, and can arrange host families near the school or help with apartments. Those who prefer to arrange their own accommodation will be advised on the most suitable areas.
Upon acceptance to the course, candidates are required to pay a 30% non-refundable deposit to confirm their place.
If written withdrawal of enrolment is received four or more weeks prior to course commencement, 100% of fees (less non-refundable deposit) will be refunded. If written withdrawal of enrolment is received less than four weeks prior to course commencement, 50% of fees (less non-refundable deposit) will be refunded. No refund is due if withdrawal occurs 14 days prior to the commencement date.
In the unlikely event that International House Milan is unable to provide a course for an enrolled trainee, all fees will be refunded in full or transferred to a course at a later date.
'Aperitivo' is an institution, looking good is an art form, and the lack of a parking space is a chance to get creative!
The financial heart of Italy and the European capital of the fashion industry, Milan is stylish, innovative, creative, and always on the move. From the elegant city centre to the charming Naviglio canal district to the latest neighbourhood gentrification project, there are always pleasant surprises to be found in Milan. World-class museums, fashion, and theatre are the norm, but so are hidden corners, secret gardens, and artisanal shops.
“Milan is a true metropolis: strong and fearless, but welcoming, too.” – Giorgio Armani
