School Description

Foyle International is an internationally recognised Cambridge English teacher training centre and the longest established language school in Northern Ireland. We've successfully trained thousands of EFL teachers since the school opened in 1990. We offer the CELTA qualification 4 times per year in a full-time format.

We have a strong network of partners across Europe and the world who offer job interviews to successful CELTA graduates. Our recruitment team can assist newly qualified teachers in finding that first EFL job.

Accommodation

We can offer candidates a range of accommodation options including self-catering student houses, hostel, B & B or staying with a local host family. Accommodation in Derry is among the cheapest in the UK, offering candidates a great value package.

Refund Policy

In the case of cancellation three weeks or more before the course start date, the deposit of £250 will be retained. With less than three weeks' notice, 50% of the course fee will be retained. If cancellation occurs in the final ten days before the starting date the total course fee will be retained. There are no refunds if you leave the course once it has started. However, in the case of extreme or unavoidable circumstances such as serious illness, we may allow you to join a later course upon payment of a second course deposit (£250).

Location Overview

Derry~Londonderry is Northern Ireland’s second city with a population of over 120,000. It is situated on the banks of the River Foyle, from which the school takes its name. Derry (which comes from the Gaelic name ‘Doire’ meaning ‘oak grove’) is one of the oldest continually inhabited areas of Ireland. Derry is Ireland’s only completely walled city and one of the finest examples in Europe.

It is a university city with a young population and exciting social scene. Derry is also a centre for cultural and musical creativity with great festivals and international events such as The Jazz and Big Band Festival; Celtronic Festival; Gasyard Féile as well as a host of other events. The biggest event in the city is the Halloween Carnival at the end of October which brings people from all over Ireland to the city to take part in a massive street party and fireworks display.
