I though the course was very helpful

As a primary teacher in a Turkish private school, I know that the move from face-to-face teaching to virtual teaching has forced us to change many of the things we were doing before, for example, provide more concrete examples of the things we expect our students to do. I believe my group would have benefited from more direct instruction and guidance prior to submitting lesson plans and practice teaching. We were told to follow outlines on how to do our lesson plans, but when we believed we set up the lesson plan according to the example, we were criticized for not following the correct form when we thought it was a replica of the example provided. No one ever checked in on us during the course to see if we needed help or if we were doing well. A more positive approach and more understanding for the people taking the course would have been appreciated instead of just negatively criticizing us immediately and threatening, warning that we will fail the course. We were told to watch the videos and we expected that was how we must do the TPs, but when we followed those examples, we were told we were wrong. It would have been helpful, in advance, to have rubrics of what was expected. The Cambridge approach seems to be the opposite of how we teach in my IB PYP school, where we help and nurture students to be successful. The Cambridge approach seems to be to give an assignment and expect the student to figure out how to do it and criticize them when it turns out they did not understand it. Sink or swim. Perhaps in face-to-face lessons, where there is a relationship between the teacher and student, this is more effective, but virtually, it made things difficult. The whole course was very stressful.

I took an online course so I can't give a clear answer about facilities and location. However, I would like to admit the great work and help of our tutors Simge and Simon. They were very helpful and professional. It was a pleasure to work with them and learn from them. Thank you.

It is an interesting and fruitful experience. I did not expect that I will learn so many things in an organized and professional way like this.

CELTA online was a rough ride but very useful. I am already seeing the effects in my own classes. The tutors are wonderful and extremely supportive and I cannot thank them enough!
